2025-26 State Nomination Migration Program – December invitation round
The Department of Home Affairs has issued remaining places for the 2025–26 State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP).
Ordinary invitation rounds for the WA SNMP have commenced, with an invitation round issued on 5 December.

2025-26 State Nomination Migration Program – additional interim allocation
An additional interim allocation has been issued for the 2025–26 State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP). This allocation will be used to conduct a November invitation round.
Invitations to apply for State nomination will commence when Western Australia’s 2025–26 allocation is confirmed by the Commonwealth Government.

A limited invitation round will be conducted in October for the interim 2025-26 SNMP allocation.
2025-26 State Nomination Migration Program Interim allocation
A small interim allocation has been issued for the 2025–26 Western Australia State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP). This allocation will be used to clear the remaining 2024–25 applications.
Given the limited number of places, the 2025–26 program year will not open until the formal allocation is issued by the Commonwealth Government.
State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) paused
The State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) will be paused from 1 July 2025 pending confirmation of 2025-26 places from the Department of Home Affairs.
New invitations to apply for State nomination will not be issued during this time.
WA Migration Services will continue to receive and assess SNMP applications.
2024-25 State Nominated Migration Program
The Western Australian State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) 2024-25 program year is now open.
For the SNMP 2024-25 program year, the Western Australian government will continue to waive the $200 application fee.
A new feature of the 2024-25 SNMP includes additional employment contract arrangements for candidates invited through the General Stream – WASMOL – Schedule 1.
State Nominated Migration Program
Following successful negotiations with the Commonwealth Government Department of Home Affairs (Home Affairs), Western Australia will be allocated 5,000 state nominated migration places for the 2024-25 program year.
Invitation rounds for State nomination for the 2024-25 program year will begin once the Western Australian Government formally receives its allocation from Home Affairs.
Closure of the WA State Nominated Migration Program applications for 2023-24
The number of WA applications received under the State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) has now exceeded the available allocations for the 2023-24 program year.
WA Migration Services will stop accepting new SNMP applications from close of business on 2 February 2024.
